C4A is proud to host this stunning one-woman play by Ama Oforiwaa Aduonum: musician, dancer, and musicologist. In this ritual drama Ama Oforiwaa seeks guidance from her ancestors who began their journey to the Americas as enslaved Africans in Ghana, West Africa. Her story takes the audience through a journey that includes live music and dance, and leads to revelation, reconciliation and renewal. $10 admission.

Walking With My Ancestors is directed by Kim Pereira and produced by Don Shandrow, Executive Director of Coalescence Theater Project.

Enjoy stew + soda bread, a pint of Guinness, and traditional Irish ditties on the Gate House Lawn during Irish Fest, presented by the U of I Community Credit Union! This fan-favorite will feature performances by the Shanties (theshanties.com) (6-7pm) and The Founding (7:30-9pm), as well as a special performance by dancers from the Shamrock Academy of Irish Dance, a competitive and recreational Irish Dance school based at Twist and Shout Dance and Cheer in Mahomet.

Food + drink will be available for purchase from local food trucks and the Greenhouse Café (no outside alcohol, please).

Admission is free, but a donation of $5/person or $10/family is suggested, and will be collected at the gate. Please bring lawn chairs and blankets.
