The Robert E. Brown Center for World Music is pleased to announce an exciting end of semester program of music and dance, performed by UIUC Balinese Gamelan ensembles under the direction of I Ketut Gede Asnawa. Traditional and contemporary works will be performed by the UIUC Student Ensemble and Community Gamelan, including several newly composed works.

Balinese dance under the direction of Putu Oka Mardiani Asnawa will also be featured in this program. Performers will be joined by featured guest artist I Nyoman Catra, one Bali's foremost masters of traditional Balinese topeng (masked) dance/theater. I Nyoman Catra is currently in residence at The College of The Holy Cross, as Visiting Fellow in Balinese Music, Theatre and Dance.

The performance is open to the public and admission is free. It will take place Saturday, April 27, 2pm in the Music Building Auditorium.
